Literacy Tip

Comprehension Strategy: "Active Listening"
The first part of every YES Reading session is devoted to the Read Aloud. Many students enjoy this time so much that it might easy to think that the students are not learning anything. The read aloud is indeed very important (see other literacy strategies to learn more about the read aloud). Here are a four ways to further engage your student as a more active participant, and will stimulate the different learning styles after the read aloud.

Student's Year End Celebration: We will be hosting a celebration for the students, in recognition of their hard work and achievement this 2007-2008 school year. You are invited to attend this event on Wednesday, June 11th, from 5-6pm. Please let me know if you are able to attend.

Montague Site Calendar

Next Year: The school year is over! We have completed the last session of the 2007-2008 school year, and boy did the year go by fast. I will be doing final assessments of the students, and letting you know the results when I have finished compiling all of the data. For those of you interested in tutoring next year, we will be contacting you in August to start the scheduling process. Montague students return to school at the end of August, and we usually begin sessions mid-September.

Thank you for being such dedicated tutors! It was an honor working with you this past school year.

Best,

Amanda
