New Staff
As YES Reading expands across the bay, we have added new staff to support our expansion. We would like to welcome our six new staff members!
Matt Aguiar is our new Director of Operations. In this position, Matt will round out the YES Reading management team. He will oversee volunteer recruitment, human resources, accounting, finance, and IT. With rapid expansion underway, this new position will ensure that these vital functions keep pace with YES Reading's growing scale.
We also have 5 new site directors:
- Tyler Abe comes to us after having taught elementary school for four years in East Palo Alto, and is the new Belle Haven Program Site Director.
- Nora Beltran is a native of Mexico, and taught first grade in Chicago. She is leading the center at Castro Elementary School.
- Dana Taxin is the new Selby Lane Site Director. She has experience as acurriculum developer at the Malawi Institute of Education as well as a classroom teacher at an elementary school in San Francisco.
- Nuree Choe was an assistant teacher in New York City and has a Masters in Education from Stanford University. She is the Site Director at Horace Mann Elementary.
- Lilly Green is heading up the College Park, Berkley Maynard, and new Lighthouse Affiliate programs. Lilly also taught in New York City, and has graduate degrees from Bank Street Collage and Columbia University.
All come to YES Reading with strong backgrounds in education and a passion for literacy. Welcome!
