Last Day of Tutoring: Monday, Dec. 17th will be our last day of tutoring for 2007. Tutoring will resume again on Monday, January 7th 2008.
Home Connections - Reading Recital: You are invited to attend our annual Reading Recital at Selby Lane! Because of the large number of students in YES Reading this year, we will be holding 2 recitals on Tuesday, Dec. 4th, 2007
2:45 – 3:45 For students NOT enrolled in the After School Program
4:15 – 5:15 For students enrolled in the After School Program
If you’re not sure if your student is in the After School Program, you can ask your student, or one of the YES Reading Staff.
Holiday Gifts: At this time of the year, we know that some tutors enjoy getting a small gift for their students. If you choose to do this, we ask that the gift be a book. We have established this policy this year in order to create a fair system for all of our YES Reading students.

Monday, 12/10 5:30-7:30pm, Multiple Learning Styles, San Jose, Horace Mann
Thursday, 1/17 2-3pm, Coffee Hour, Selby Lane - We will be discussing the various supplementary materials and games available to tutors.
New Selby Lane Site Director: We appreciate your understanding and flexibility during this transition time at Selby Lane. Rosa, Nuree, Yve, and Lia have been working together as a team to ensure that the center continues to run smoothly and that you feel supported in the work that you are doing with your students. We are thrilled to announce that we have hired our new Site Director for Selby Lane who will begin at the start of the new year. Georganne Morin comes to us from the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula where she was the Education Director. She has taught elementary school in Oakland Unified School District and abroad in Africa. Her masters work was through the Stanford School of Education. We are excited to introduce you to Georganne and are confident that she is going to be a fantastic addition to the YES Reading staff.
