YES Reading is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering students through literacy and investing community
members in underserved public schools.

YES Reading recruits and trains community volunteers to provide one-on-one tutoring for elementary and middle school
students reading below grade level. We partner with historically underresourced public schools and work closely with
classroom teachers to provide a curriculum-based, results-oriented intervention for low-performing readers. |
Community involvement in traditionally underserved public schools is a critical component of
student achievement and success. YES Reading provides structured reading support to
children who may otherwise not have an opportunity for individualized reading attention. We operate reading centers at 10 schools across the Bay Area, from San Jose to East Palo Alto to Oakland. Find a reading center close to you and get involved! |
